Validity Period

Introduction

Configuring a password validity period in Joget ensures that users regularly update their passwords, enhancing security by reducing the risk of unauthorized access. By setting an expiration date for passwords, you can enforce periodic password changes, ensuring that passwords are regularly refreshed.

How does it work?

In Joget, you can configure the password validity period by setting a password expiration policy. Once the password reaches its expiration date, users are prompted to reset their passwords upon their next login. This approach ensures that outdated passwords are regularly replaced with new, secure ones.

To configure the password expiration settings:

  1. Go to System Settings > Directory Manager Settings.
  2. Go to Select Plugin to choose the Security Enhanced Directory Manager.
  3. In the Default Directory Password Policy section, set the Password Validity Period (Months). Specify the number of months after which the password should expire.
  4. Click Submit to save your settings.
