Password Format

Introduction

In Joget, you can enforce specific password formats to enhance security by requiring users to create passwords that meet defined criteria. Configuring these mandatory characters ensures that passwords adhere to a strong policy, reducing the risk of unauthorized access.

How does it work?

You can define password rules that specify the required characters, such as uppercase letters, lowercase letters, numbers, and special characters. These rules are enforced when users create or change their passwords, ensuring compliance with security policies.

Configuring the mandatory characters for password

To configure the password format in Joget, follow these steps:

  1. Go to System Settings > Directory Manager Settings.
  2. Go to Select Plugin to choose Security Enhanced Directory Manager and click the blue Select button.
  3. In the Default Directory Password Policy section, define the Password Mandatory Characters, such as:
    • At least 1 upper-case letter
    • At least 1 lower-case letter
    • At least 1 numeric character
    • At least 1 special character
Note: All special chars on the standard keyboard are accepted.
    • Cannot include username
  4. Once configured, click Submit to save the settings.
