User Options

User Options fetches a list of users from the directory manager, allowing for dynamic population of user-related selections in form elements.

Configure user options

Configuring User Options allows you to fetch a list of users from the directory manager, enhancing the flexibility and user-friendliness of form selections.

Fields to Configure:

• Select Organization: Refine selections by choosing an organization.
• Select Department: Refine selections by choosing a department.
• Select Group: Refine selections by choosing a group.
• Add Empty Option: Check to include an empty option in the selections.
• Empty Option Label: The label for the empty option is used when the Add Empty Option is checked.
• Label: Specify how user options are labeled.
  • Full Name with Username
  • Username
  • Full Name
• Grouping by: Choose how options are grouped.
  • None
  • Organization
  • Department
  • Grade
• Use AJAX for cascade options?: When checked, these fields can dynamically load available options based on the other field value (grouping column) when dealing with many selections. For more information, see Ajax Cascading Drop-Down List.

Form Options Caching

Caching options allow you to manage how often the user options are refreshed, which can significantly improve performance in environments with large datasets.

Fields to Configure:

• Sync Cache Interval: Duration in seconds for cache synchronization activation.
  For example, with a setting of 180 seconds, background synchronization on the server occurs every 180 seconds to update with the latest data.
• Pause Sync after Idle: Duration to wait before pausing synchronization after idle.
