Update via Saved XPDL

The Update via Saved XPDL option in Joget DX 8 allows the App Designer to quickly upload a local .xpdl file to update the process design within a specific application context. Here’s an explanation of how it works and its utility within the Joget context:

Process design update

  • Upload XPDL File: App Designers can upload a .xpdl file directly from their local system to Joget Workflow. This file contains the definition of the process, including activities, routes, associated forms, decisions, and any configured business logic.
  • App ID Compatibility: The uploaded .xpdl file must match the App ID of the current application in Joget. This ensures that the update is applied correctly to the desired application.

Update process

  • Once the .xpdl file is uploaded, Joget Workflow processes the information and updates the process design within the corresponding application.
  • This allows designers to iterate quickly on process design, adjust based on business requirements, and test new configurations without directly changing the user interface.

Important considerations

  • Versioning: Proper version control of .xpdl files is important to ensure updates are managed correctly and can be reverted if necessary.
  • Version Compatibility: Ensure compatibility between the Joget Workflow version and the structure of the .xpdl file to prevent compatibility issues and data loss.
