Protect Sensitive Data

Joget now supports enhanced protection for form fields within the application designer, allowing you to safeguard sensitive data such as Social Security numbers and passwords. This feature ensures that critical information remains secure in transit and within the database.

The password field, crucial for user security, is encrypted by default. In the database, any encrypted data is displayed as %%%%ENCRYPTED_VALUE%%%%, ensuring that sensitive information is obfuscated and protected against unauthorized access.

Joget also encrypts text fields to protect other types of data. Here’s how you can encrypt a text field:

    1. Navigate to the Form Builder, where you manage your application's forms.
  1. Locate and edit the text field you wish to secure.
  2. Check the Encryption checkbox to ensure the data entered into this field is securely encrypted.
