Simultaneous Internal and External Directory Managers

Introduction

In Joget, you can streamline user management by integrating internal and external directory services. This allows you to manage users from the internal local directory and external directory managers such as Active Directory (AD). By configuring simultaneous use of directories, you can seamlessly authenticate and manage users across multiple directory systems.

How does it work?

Joget provides the flexibility to use both internal and external directory managers simultaneously. This is particularly useful when managing users internally while integrating with external services like AD. The Security Enhanced Directory Manager plugin facilitates this setup, allowing you to retrieve users from Joget’s internal directory and an external LDAP directory.

To configure simultaneous use of internal and external directories:

  1. Go to System Settings > Directory Manager Settings.
  2. Go to Select Plugin to choose Security Enhanced Directory Manager and click the blue Select button.
  3. Go to External Directory Manager > External, and choose LDAP Directory Manager.
  4. Fill in the required plugin attributes to complete the LDAP server configuration.
