Department Options

The Department Options will return a list of departments found in the directory manager. It allows filtering by organization and includes caching options for improved performance.

Configure department

Configuring the Department Options involves selecting the organization to filter the department list, adding an empty option if needed, and defining the label for the empty option.

Configure the following fields:

  • Select Organization: Filter by the organization to return the department list.
  • Add Empty Option: If checked, an empty option will be added to the selections.
  • Empty Option Label: The label for the empty option. It is only used when the Add Empty Option is checked.

Form options caching

Caching options allow you to manage how often the department list is refreshed, which can significantly improve performance in environments with large datasets.

Configure the following fields:

  • Sync Cache Interval: Duration in seconds for cache synchronization activation.
    For example, with a setting of 180 seconds, background synchronization on the server occurs every 180 seconds to update with the latest data.
  • Pause Sync after Idle: Duration to wait before pausing synchronization after idle.
For large user datasets, increase Pause sync after idle for continuous cache updates. If dropdown selections are unlikely to change rapidly, set a longer Sync Cache Interval to avoid frequent cache updates.
