Native Mobile App

Introduction

The native Joget mobile app provides an optimized experience for accessing your Joget applications and servers from your mobile devices. Its primary focus is facilitating access to Joget applications and servers without configuring them. With this application, you can enjoy all the features of Joget directly on your mobile devices, including both the original functions of Joget and the applications you have created. Additionally, you can receive push notifications and access multiple applications from anywhere.

Before using the Joget Mobile App, you must install, configure, and activate push notifications. Follow the steps below to get started.

Installation

To install the Joget Mobile App, download it from the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store. Once installed, proceed to Step 2 to configure the app.

Configuration 

Once you have installed the Joget mobile app on your device, it's time to set it up by following the steps below:

  1. Upon launching the app for the first time, you'll encounter a profile creation form following the main screen. Enter the necessary details of your Joget server.



    Field name  Description
    Profile Name

    Any descriptive name for easy recognition.

    For example:

    • Demo 
    • Production
    URL

    Provide the URL of your Joget installation.

    For example:

    • mydomain.com.
    • https://mydomain.com/jw. 

    If you specify only a domain name or IP, http:// and /jw will be automatically added when making the connection.

    Username Enter your username to log in to Joget.
    Password Enter your password to log in to Joget.
    Remember Password Check this option if you want the application to remember your password and not have to enter it each time you log in.
  2. Click Login to connect to the Joget server.
    It will redirect you to the App Center, where you will have your mobile-enabled apps.
  3. Click the Home icon in the top right corner to return to the main profiles page.



  4. Select any existing profiles from the drop-down list and click Login to connect to that profile.
  5. You can add or remove profiles using the (+) or (-) buttons.

Push notifications

Push notifications allow you to receive instant alerts on your mobile devices. Follow these steps to install and configure the push notification plugin on your Joget server:

  1. Download the Mobile Push Notification Plugin from the Joget Marketplace.
  2. Install the plugin into your Joget installation.
  3. In the Design App page of the Joget app that you would like to send push notifications, click the Set Plugin Default Properties button and select the Mobile Push Notification Audit Trail plugin.

  4. On the plugin configuration page, enter the Base URL to match your server's domain or IP address.
    For example:

    • http://mydomain.com/jw
    • https://mydomain.com/jw 

     Leave the rest of the default property values unchanged.

  5. Click Submit to save.

At this point, the set up is complete. If your mobile device has a profile configured for this Joget server and runs the Joget Mobile App. In that case, you'll receive a push notification whenever a new task assignment create.

Testing PWA user notification

If you want to verify the functionality of PWA user notifications in the Joget application, follow these steps to conduct a test on your Android mobile device:

  1. Open the Joget app in your web browser using HTTPS. Go to Properties & Export, and add the Default User Notification Plugin. Make sure not to enable the Disable Web Push Notifications property.
  2. Open the Chrome browser on your Android mobile device and go to Settings. Enable notifications for the browser.
  3. Log in to the Joget cloud site using your mobile Chrome browser and the username admin.
  4. Click Allow when prompted to allow the Joget URL to send you notifications.
  5. Log in to Joget using HTTPS and assign a new task to a specific user, such as Admin or another one.

    Note: It is important to log in to your mobile device with the same user account assigned to the task to receive the corresponding notification.
    After completing the steps, expect to receive a notification on your mobile Chrome browser indicating a new Joget notification.
  6. Click on the notification to open the Joget app in your mobile Chrome browser, where you can view the task.
    Note: Logging in as 'admin' is only an example; feel free to use any username. Additionally, you only need to utilize each app's default User Notification plugin to enable PWA notifications.
